Partnering with your family to facilitate change
The majority of my training has involved the development and implementation of evidence-based practices for decreasing behavior problems and improving functional capacity for independence (e.g., self-care, social skills). Some approaches I use include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Parent Training for Disruptive Behaviors
- Program for the Education & Enrichment of Relational Skill
In addition to the the "identified patient," therapy can also include caregivers, extended family, educators, aides, and other members of the patient's "team." In this way, I strive to provide comprehensive and continuous patient-centered care for people and their families.
One of my patients was chosen as a 2016 Miracle Kid at the Golisano Children's Hospital. Learn more about my work with Daniel.
